1. Introduction

Analogy questions test your ability to identify relationships between two things and apply the same logic to another pair.

2. Definition

An analogy is a comparison between two pairs of items, where the relationship between the first pair is similar to the relationship in the second pair.

Format: A : B :: C : ? (Read as "A is to B as C is to ?")

Example: Bird : Nest :: Bee : ?

Here, a bird lives in a nest, similarly a bee lives in a hive.

Answer: Hive

3. Types of Analogies

Synonym Analogies: Focus on words with similar meanings.

Example: Happy : Joyful :: Sad : ? → Answer: Unhappy

Antonym Analogies: Opposites are the key.

Functional Analogies: One item is related to another by function.
